Ilya Kaminsky was born in Odessa, former USSR and came to the USA when
his family was granted asylum by the American government in 1993. He is
an author of Dancing in Odessa which won the Whiting Writers Award,
Academy of American Arts and Letters Metcalf Award, and the Dorset Prize.
Curent work appears in New Republic, Columbia, The Jerusalem
Post and elsewhere.
