John Estes is a native of Indiana and currently teaches literature
and creative writing at the University of Missouri-Columbia while completing
a doctorate with concentrations in poetics and the pastoral. Recent
poems have appeared or are forthcoming in, among other places, The Wallace
Stevens Journal, Dogwood, CipherJournal, DIAGRAM, Plains Song Review, The
Journal and The Notre Dame Review. Portions of his translation
of the Old English Rune Poem will be featured in an upcoming Circumference
and a chapbook, Breakfasts with Blake at the Laocoön, will
be released by Finishing Line Press in 2007.
