Margarita Meklina is a bilingual essayist and fiction writer originally
from St. Petersburg and currently residing in San Francisco. In 2003, she
was awarded the Andrei Bely prize for her Russian collection of short stories
Battle at St. Petersburg. She co-authored the unpublished novel “A Year
of Correspondence” with poet and essayist Arkadii Dragomoschenko. Some
of her essays have appeared in The Contemporary Pacific, Rattapallax,
and in Russian-language literary magazines Zerkalo (Israel), Stethoscope
(France), Mitin Zhurnal (Prague), and elsewhere.
