PANOS IOANNIDES was born in Famagusta, Cyprus, in 1935. He studied
Mass Communication and Sociology in USA and Canada. Works of his have been
translated and published in their entirety on in parts in several languages.
In 1992 and 2009 he received two major Awards for the entirety of his work
and in 2007 the Award for Excellence in Letters of the Cyprus Republic.
He has been honored with many awards and distinctions including: Four First
National Prizes for his novels Census and The Unbearable patriotism
of P.F.K. and for his collection of short stories: Cyprus Epics
and The Unseen Aspect. He is the President of the Cyprus PEN Centre.
